Stanford Blood Center (SBC) has been a community blood center playing a key role in research success and clinical care since 1978. SBC Biologics, which includes a CLIA-certified Flow Lab, supports research endeavors and clinical trials to advance scientific and medical impact across their communities.
In addition to our SBC Biologics program, our SBC Labs provide routine, complex, and customized testing services to support transfusion and transplantation medicine for Bay Area patients and the growing research and therapeutics community. Our Donor Testing Lab supports infectious disease and immunohematology needs for blood, bone marrow, living organ, and organ & tissue testing. Rounding out our services is our onsite Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory (HLA Lab), which provides compatibility testing and pre- and post-transplant monitoring for bone marrow and solid organ transplantation, as well as disease association and pharmacogenetics testing.
